A three-dimensional reconstruction of the rods in rat maxillary incisor enamel.

چکیده
A three-dimensional reconstruction of the rod profiles seen in inner and outer rat incisor enamel was made from serial 1 μ cross sections of a decalcified upper incisor. The enamel rod was found to be an elongated structure which travelled incisally relative to its origin and ran continuously from the dentino-enamel junction to the enamel surface. The rod was divisible into an inner and outer enamel portion. The inner enamel portion began at the dentinoenamel junction and travelled incisally for about 20 μ with either a mesial or lateral tilt towards the outer enamel. The outer enamel portion of the rod was straight and ran incisally for about 60 μ as it gradually approached the enamel

Mandibular Talon Cusp Associated With Molar-Incisor Hypomineralization and Delayed Tooth Eruption
Talon cusp is an odontogenic anomaly in anterior teeth, caused by hyperactivity of enamel in morphodifferentiation stage. Talon cusp is an additional cusp with several types based on its extension and shape. It has enamel, dentin, and sometimes pulp tissue. Moreover, it can cause clinical problems such as poor aesthetic, dental caries, attrition, occlusal interferences, and periodontal di...
متن کاملCorrection of sever rotation of central maxillary incisor with fixed-removable appliance in the mixed dentition stage: A case report
BACKGROUND AND AIM: The aim of this case report is to present an approach used to correct severe rotation of anterior maxillary teeth in a pre-adolescent boy.CASE REPORT: The patient was an 8-year-old boy in the mixed dentition stage and severe rotation of upper right central incisor. Whip appliance was consisted of a removable plate, a cantilever spring and a bonded molar tube on rotated tooth...
متن کاملRoot Canal Treatment of a Geminated Maxillary Lateral Incisor: A Case Report
Dental anomaly in number, size, and shape might occur during dental bud morphodifferentiation stage. Gemination and fusion are the most common anomalies. Gemination exhibits two joined crowns and usually a single root. This case report presents a geminated maxillary lateral incisor in a 15-year-old female admitted with symptoms of irreversible pulpitis and normal apical tissues. Clinical examin...

The epithelial tissue forming the posterior aspect of the apical foramen in the upper incisor of the rat was reconstructed from 1 μm thick serial cross sections. Like the lower incisor, this portion of the odontogenic organ in the upper incisor was composed of a bulbous and a "U"-shaped part. However, the bulbous part was considerably blunter and the "U"-shaped part much larger in circumference...
متن کاملArch dimensional changes following orthodontic treatment with extraction of four first premolars
BACKGROUND AND AIM: Tooth extraction as a part of orthodontic treatment plan to create space for leveling and aligning teeth or causing tooth movement leads to changes in arch width and length. The outcome of these changes is important for the clinicians and affects the treatment and retention plans. Despite some previous studies, data in this regard are still scarce and further investigation i...
